Last updated: 14 May 2026
Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how TribeBoard ("we", "us", or "our") handles information when you use the TribeBoard mobile application and related services (together, the "Services"). We aim to be clear and practical. This policy may be updated from time to time; we will adjust the "Last updated" date when we do. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy unless applicable law requires otherwise.
TribeBoard is operated with families in mind. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Services.
Information we collect
Depending on how you use TribeBoard, we may collect or process the categories of information below.
- Account information: such as your name, email address, authentication identifiers, and basic profile details you choose to provide.
- Family and household information: such as household or group names, member profiles, roles, schedules, lists, notes, and other content you add to a shared household space.
- Invite information: such as invite tokens, invite status, and the contact channel used to deliver an invitation (for example, email), where applicable.
- Location and address information: if you choose to save addresses, place names, or location-related details, or if you enable features that rely on device location. Where precise location is used, it is generally based on your device settings and permissions.
- App usage and diagnostics: such as device type, app version, crash logs, performance diagnostics, and limited usage signals to help us keep the Services reliable and secure.
How we use information
We use information for purposes such as:
- Providing, operating, and improving the Services;
- Authenticating accounts and preventing fraud or abuse;
- Supporting invites, roles, and shared household features;
- Communicating with you about the Services (for example, support responses or important notices);
- Analysing reliability issues and improving stability; and
- Complying with legal obligations and enforcing our terms.
Data sharing
TribeBoard is designed around shared household spaces. Information you add to a household may be visible to other members of that household according to product features and permissions.
We may share information with service providers who help us operate the Services (for example, hosting, analytics, crash reporting, email delivery, or customer support tooling), subject to appropriate safeguards such as contracts where required.
We may disclose information if we believe in good faith that disclosure is required by law, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, the public, or TribeBoard.
We do not sell your personal information as a dictionary-defined "sale" of personal data.
Data security
We take reasonable measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children and family data
TribeBoard may be used to coordinate family life, which can include information relating to children when a parent or guardian chooses to enter it. If you are a guardian, you are responsible for ensuring that your use of the Services aligns with your household's needs and any applicable laws. If you believe a child has created an account without appropriate permission, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to investigate.
Your choices
You can review and update certain information in the app where supported. You may be able to control permissions such as notifications or location through your device settings. You can contact us to ask questions or request assistance with account-related matters.
Account deletion
You may request deletion of your account by following the instructions on our Delete account page. Deleting an account may remove your access to household data, memberships, invites, and related app services, depending on how the product is configured at the time of deletion.
International transfers
If you use the Services from outside the country where our service providers operate, your information may be processed in other countries where data protection laws may differ. Where required, we take steps designed to provide appropriate protections for international transfers.
Retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Retention periods can vary depending on the type of data and operational requirements.
